Membership suited to your organisation

The Security & Defence Agenda is the only regular forum in Brussels devoted to analysing and debating the future of defence and security policies. It does so thanks to the support of a wide range of institutions, industries, governments and other think-tanks. The hallmark of the SDA is its independence and its capacity to bring together, through its events and publications, a cross-section of high-level and representative voices from all sides of the debate. Membership allows engagement with movers and shakers from various backgrounds, political colours, nationalities, and convictions.

The SDA offers three types of membership. For more information, please contact us.

Full Membership

Full membership is designed for businesses, industries and international organisations. Offering our highest level of visbility, this package also entitles your company to bring delegations to all events, maximising your ability to network in the international security and defence community.

Special Membership

Special membership is designed for SMEs, trade associations, chambers of commerce and foundations. This custom package offers your organisation competative visibility at all of our publications, as well as representative places at events.

Diplomatic Membership

Diplomatic membership is aimed at diplomatic missions, permanent representations and embassies, regional offices, NGOs and other think-tanks. This economical package grants members a place at all SDA events, as well as website exposure and publicity.

The benefits of SDA membership

A unique forum

The SDA gathers NATO and EU officials, parliamentarians, government representatives, industry leaders, academia, journalists, NGOs and think-tanks to stimulate discussion on the future of European and transatlantic defence and security policies. Common to all event formats is an emphasis on topical, lively and innovative debate, enabling SDA members to voice their opinions on a range of topics and issues.

Networking opportunities
Roundtables include a networking lunch for members. These give SDA members a chance to speak with roundtable panellists, chat with other members, listen to guest speakers and comment on the roundtable’s contents with policymakers, business leaders, the media and other relevant stakeholders.
SDA members are invited to exclusive members-only events with the SDA’s co-presidents and members of the SDA’s Advisory Board. These lunch and dinner events offer unique opportunities to discuss key issues with the sector’s decision-makers.

Regular information on the key issues
SDA members receive copies of all publications, including regular discussion papers and expert reports on a variety of topics, as well as full reports of all events. Members also receive a subscription to Europe’s World, the only pan-European policy journal. Europe’s World includes a regular security and defence section with contributions from key senior stakeholders.

High Visibility
SDA debates bring together all the players involved the defence and security arenas. Member support is widely recognised in event documentation, on our website and in SDA publications.

Innovation

The SDA constantly strives to reinvent its debate formats through the use of new and innovative technologies. In February 2010 the SDA organised the Security Jam, an online brainstorm on topics ranging from crisis management to climate change and development to relations with Russia and China. Some 4000 participants logged on from 124 countries across 7 continents to post thousands of contributions. Members are invited to associate themselves with and/or participate in such initiatives.
